Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council is deeply concerned about the potential closure of the town’s Post Office, a vital service that plays a central role in the daily lives of residents and the local economy.

The Post Office has long been a cornerstone of our community, providing essential services including postal deliveries, banking, bill payments, and access to government services. Its closure would have far-reaching consequences, particularly for vulnerable residents such as the elderly, those with mobility challenges, and individuals who rely on face-to-face support for managing their affairs.

Local businesses, which often depend on the Post Office for shipping and banking services, would also face significant disruption.

Mayor Councillor Paul Wilson speaking on behalf of the Town Council, stated: “The Post Office is not just a convenience; it’s a lifeline for many in our community. Losing it would create a gap that cannot easily be filled, disproportionately affecting those who rely on its services the most.”

The Town Council is urging local residents to make their voices heard by participating in official public consultations and to support preserving the Post Office.

Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council remains committed to supporting initiatives that protect the infrastructure and services essential to our community’s well-being.
